About the play

A sudden storm makes a little girl run into a café in Paris. Two mysterious figures take her on a magical journey from a small square in Malaga, Spain, to the boulevards of Paris, France: a journey in the life of Pablo Picasso. The queries of the little girl on the great Spanish painter and the world of art will forever change her life.

Director’s note

“Art lives only through the ones who look at it.”
Pablo Picasso

How does the life of a painter unfold through his own paintings? The life of the iconic Pablo Picasso turns into a theater play by the seveneleven theater company at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation.

Based on the real life of the famous artist, the play A little story for a great Artist attempts to build a relationship between the younger audiences and the visual arts by encouraging a quest on the various art works of Picasso – as well as modern and contemporary art in general – displayed in the museum.
